Hey! This is really a helpful post! I am just a newbie in diving. I haven't dove yet but I know my friend is going to take me underwater soon. My hopes of diving good went high because you said that poor swimmers might be good divers. Haha. :)

Hey Michael,

Glad you enjoyed the article!

Well, I have discussed this with some colleagues about two months ago when a woman with "super enhancement" wanted to do a DSD. We, (bare in mind that we have no medical training) rationalised that she would be perfectly safe being as there is no air pocket in the breast, therefore there should be no complications. I did hear a woman complain (again, similarly endowed with "enhancements") when surfacing from a dive, but I think it was a poorly fitting BCD chest strap that was causing her the trouble. I'd get a doctor's advice before diving after any major surgery as there can be very small amounts of air trapped in the wound that could cause serious implications.

Hope this helps,

Entertaining & informative read! You´ve discussed a range of myths that any reader, novice to professional, can relate to. They are also not your typical cliché myths. I have one of those for you: How risky is it to dive if you have had breast augmentation/surgery? I remember reading a headline a few weeks ago in which a celebrity was advised not to dive in Egypt due to her surgery for safety reasons.
